AGC Senior Associate Named to Municipal Law Institute

AGC is pleased to announce that senior associate Sharon Medellin has been named by the League of California Cities to serve a two year term on the Municipal Law Institute (MLI) Committee.

Each year, the MLI hosts a two day symposium of issues of interest to municipal law practitioners. The symposium allows public law attorneys to hear cutting edge techniques to address legal issues facing cities and other public agencies throughout California.<.p>

Topics at the 2014 Symposium included

  • Public Sector Collective Bargaining,
  • Contracting and Privatization of Public Services,
  • Employee Speech, Privacy, and the Internet,
  • Public Safety Personnel Issues and Due Process,
  • Current Developments on Pension and Benefits, and
  • Examining Bias across the Legal System.

The date and location of the 2015 Symposium and topics to be discussed have not yet been set. Check the League of California Cities website in Fall 2014 for more information (see www.cacities.org).

We congratulate Ms. Medellin on appointment to the MLI Committee.
