AGC is pleased to announce that it has successfully negotiated a settlement with Lake County and Northern California Power Agency over a lawsuit challenging construction of a one megawatt solar energy power generation facility near Clear Lake, California. The lawsuit was originally filed by AGC on behalf of homeowners and concerned residents whose property values and livelihoods would be significantly impacted by the proposed power facility. Under the terms of the settlement, the affected residents will be compensated for the negative impact the project will cause, and the scope of solar development will be expanded in a manner that benefits nearby homes.
AGC attorney Matt Gorman handled the case for the residents. “We are pleased to reach a resolution of this lawsuit in a way that compensates our clients while expanding the development of green energy,” Mr. Gorman says. “Our clients were in favor of solar power from the outset of this case, and we are glad the end result will secure this clean energy for the future.”
