AGC has extensive experience in public agency law, including those areas of law that impact public educational institutions. Mr. Roger Colvin, founding member and senior partner, has participated on the attorney litigation panel for the Los Angeles Community College District for over ten years, representing the District in all aspects of litigation.
Moreover, Mr. Arnold M. Alvarez-Glasman and Mr. Scott Nichols, both of whom have successfully handled a number of public agency construction defect cases, have a keen interest in education, having taught business law at the Community College level.
The Firm also has a particular specialty in the legal issues involved in construction of schools and educational facilities. AGC understands the ultimate goal of a school district's construction program: to pay the construction costs agreed upon, and not more, in exchange for the timely construction of safe and acceptable school sites, built in conformance with plans, specifications, and Title 24 requirements. Therefore, from Day One, the Firm's attorneys are intimately involved in all aspects of a school district's construction program in order to achieve proper performance by contractors and consultants while maximizing the district's construction funds.
