John W. Lam is a Senior Partner at AGC specializing in the areas of Municipal, Real Estate, and Land Use and Planning. Mr. Lam currently serves as the City Attorney for the City of Chico and Assistant City Attorney for the cities of Buena Park, Lynwood, and Pico Rivera.
Mr. Lam counsels public entities and cities located throughout California in all areas of municipal law such as the Public Records Act, Ralph M. Brown Act (Open Meetings), conflict of interests, ethics, records retention, prevailing wages, public contracting, code enforcement, and land use and planning.
Mr. Lam received his J.D. from Loyola Law School. While in law school, he served as a staff member and later the Executive Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review and was a published author. During that time, Mr. Lam also clerked for the Los Angeles office of the California Office of the Attorney General, Torts and Condemnations Department. Prior to law school, Mr. Lam attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Political Science and History.
